Melbourne Victory will have a new supporter at this week's clash against Liverpool FC, with Continental Tyres of Australia coming on board as a signage sponsor of Wednesday's match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

A sell-out crowd of 92,000 people is expected to pack the stands at the MCG, and Continental Tyres is looking forward to being a part of it.

"A crucial component to Continental's global marketing mix is an alignment with the world's number one sport - football, or soccer - and we jumped at the opportunity to be a part of this local blockbuster match," said Mitchell Golledge, Marketing Manager, Continental Tyres of Australia.

"Australians love soccer, with interest and awareness continually increasing, particularly now in the lead-up to the next year's FIFA World Cup in Brazil where the Socceroos will be competing against the world's best.

"Our support of global football is extremely beneficial in enhancing brand awareness of our company right around the world and hence contributing to strengthening our brand's marketing position."

Continental Tyres signage will be prominently displayed right around the MCG, complemented by its latest television advertisement which is scheduled to play regularly on the big screen.

Internationally, Continental Tyres has a strong involvement in global football with sponsorship of the 2006, 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups as well as support of the UEFA Champions League from 1995-2000, UEFA EURO 2008 and 2012 and recent expansion of the agreement with Major League Soccer in the USA.
